SenseAble Culture Community of Practice
Everyone should be able to take part in culture 🎭. But in Europe, people with sensory disabilities often can’t. This is especially true in small towns and rural areas 🏘️, where museums and libraries may not have the money or know-how to be accessible. There’s a good law 📜 (the European Accessibility Act), but making it work in real life is hard.
SenseAble Culture is a new Erasmus+ initiative, running from December 2025 to November 2027 🗓️, designed to fix that. We create simple, practical tools 🔧 to help small cultural spaces become more accessible. We are:
✅ Making a free course and toolkit for small museums, libraries, and theatres.
✅ Training staff on how to welcome visitors with sensory disabilities.
✅ Creating hands-on, multi-sensory exhibitions with our partners.
But tools and training need people to use them. That’s where you come in 👥.
The SenseAble Culture Community of Practice (CoP) is where change happens 💡. We connect people who work in culture, disability advocates, experts, and anyone who cares about inclusion ❤️. Together, we share ideas, solve problems, and turn good plans into everyday practice. We make sure no community is left out because of its size or location 🌍.
Our goal is simple: to learn from each other, support one another, and make a real difference. We want everyone to enjoy culture freely and fully 🎨.
Join us. Let’s build a more SenseAble world 🌟.
If you work in culture, care about accessibility, or just believe in inclusion, your voice matters 🗣️. Join the community and help make culture open to all.
